ABOUT US

The Parramatta 4 Kenya Relief Fund Committee was formed to provide support and assistance to Kenya. This follows the civil strife, violence and the loss of lives and property of many innocent people after the national elections on December 27. The founders of this committee have been supporting work in Africa since 1997.

Kenya is known for its reputation of supporting refugees from many neigbouring countries.

Parramatta and Western Sydney is recognised for its multiculturalism and large contingency of African population.

The committee was formed to increase awareness of these current problems and to provide direct support to the people of Kenya.

The Committee has direct contact with prominent people in Kenya and are able to ensure that money is directly and completely provided to those in need. More information on this is available upon request.

Previous support provided includes:

12 January 2008 - Donation to purchase 200 Blankets and 50 x 50 kg bags of beans provided to Father Vincent Suguiti

October 2007 - Donation for electricity supply for Chesongoch Primary School and medical clinic

10 Sep 07 to 3 Oct 07 - Visit to Kenya by Next Level Generation team to train refugees, aids victims, orphans and youth in dance and song AND the provision of medical supplies - for details click here

The chairperson of the Committee is Robyn Kassas, Director of Next Level Generation Performing Arts Company (NLG).

Robyn received a 2007 Living For Others Award (photos) from the Universal Peace Federation and is a 2003 International Year of the Volunteer recipient for Parramatta. Most recently she received recognition as an Ambassador of Peace by the Universal Peace Federation.
